Starry Night

Van Gogh's Starry Night (top, 1889?, oil). Elin's Starry Night (bottom).
It has obviously been reflected horizontally, and the flash isn't helping the color, but you get the gist. (2000, Acrylic)

Rubylith

Most of these are testers to see what I was able to do with the Rubylith and my scalpel. (2007ish). Recently I have made "batman" for my nephew. Unfortunately I was unable to borrow it for posting purposes.

Ruby Lith is masking film. Rubylith consists of two films sandwiched together. The bottom layer is a clear polyester backing sheet. The top layer is a translucent, red coloured, self adhesive, emulsion. It is used for many different printing techniques. It is easily cut with a knife. This is what I do, minus the printing. I gently cut what I want out of the red side, and then peel away the rest, and ta-da....oh yeah..there is a white sheet of paper behind so you can see the ruby, the actual background is clear

Give (OMW)

If I had 100, 000 dollars, what organization or person would I give it to? What an overused question, however also a good one, and as much as I want to be one of those people who love to believe they would give it all to charity, I am not. I mean, come on, who are you kidding? It's 100, 000 dollars! You can't even buy a house for 100, 000 dollars. So you're telling me that you would give all of that to people who are going without before even maybe giving a little bit of thought to paying off some of your own living costs; mortgage, your car, the list goes on. Again, I remind you that we are talking about 100, 000. I suppose if I had money, I might consider it, but I don't, so I am not. This is not to say that I am not kind hearted or caring, because I think I might be, a tad. Perhaps if I had to give away 1, 000, 000 dollars out of say 10, 000, 000, 000, I might have a boring, cliche, save the world answer for you. That is not the case. Not today. Today, I would give the 100, 000 to my mother. Now, you may think this too is a cliche answer, however, let me explain. I chose my mother for selfish reasons. I would donate all of my precious moolah to the fabulous mother fund because I know that if I was ever in need, she would, without a doubt, hand it right back to me. So, for all of those people out there who have a 100, 000 dollars to toss away, I just started my own charity. Please make your cheque or money order out to "Dreams on you".
